Brandenburg Gate
Without a doubt, it is the city's landmark: the Brandenburg Gate. Built between 1788 and 1791 by Carl Gotthard Langhans, it was just one of many old city gates around Berlin, which was still manageable at the time. In front of the gate, a decorative square was created, Pariser Platz, where many of the city's important buildings are still to this day, such as the historic Hotel Adlon, the Academy of the Coast or the embassies of Great Britain and the USA. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is located near Pariser Platz.
