Brandenburger Tor

Undoubtedly, it is the symbol of the city: the Brandenburg Gate. Built 1788-1791 by Carl Gotthard Langhans, it was just one of many old city gates around the time still manageable Berlin. A jewelry course was preceded by the gate applied, the Pariser Platz, where today are many important buildings in the city, such as the historic Hotel Adlon, the Academy of coast or the embassies of the UK and the USA. Near the Pariser Platz is the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.
